Overview
A long-range UHF RFID pallet tag for non-metal pallets
The UPT is a 128 × 19 × 6 mm bar tag made for pallets with wooden, plastic or other non-metal surfaces. Its long, slim shape fits along the side of a pallet block or deck board, and the ABS/PC housing has passed drop and stress tests. It is not meant for direct mounting on steel; for metal cages and racking, choose a tag from our on-metal range.
Why the chip matters for pallets
Pallets reach a dock-door reader at every angle. The Impinj Monza 4E uses True3D, with two antenna ports that make a compact tag omni-directional, which improves read reliability when a pallet arrives turned. Custom EPC plus TID backscatter speeds up tag authentication, and a write sensitivity of −14.6 dBm helps when you commission and encode tags in bulk. The 496-bit EPC leaves room for longer identifiers; see our EPC encoding guide.
Range and labelling
Expect up to 12 m at 2 W ERP, the limit for readers on India’s 865–868 MHz band (15 m is quoted at 4 W ERP). A barcoded label can be added on the front, so the same pallet can be scanned by RFID at the dock and by barcode where no reader is installed. For dock-door layouts, read our guide to RFID in logistics and supply chain.
Typical applications
- Pallet tracking
